June 17, 2011

COLUMBIA CITY — For the first time in the 25-year history of the Indiana Highland Games & Scottish Festival, the event highlighting Scottish heritage and culture has moved to Whitley County.
Slated for Saturday, June 25, 2011, the Indiana Highland Games & Scottish Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Whitley County 4-H Fairgrounds in Columbia City.
Admission and parking for the event are free, due to a grant from the Whitley County Community Foundation.
This year’s games will feature sanctioned athletics with one of the largest numbers of participating athletes in several years, including several world record holding participants, clan tents, a heritage and hospitality tent, children’s activities at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and a wide assortment of shopping at the Whitley County Farmers Market booths in the shady grove.
Additionally, concessions will be available and will benefit the Whitley County 4-H clubs.
