Sentence modifications granted by Judge Heuer

May 30, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Two individuals who had been previously sentenced to the Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC) for drug crimes had their sentences modified Monday.

Kevin Irwin and Kyle Barker were both given local sentences by Whitley County Circuit Court Judge James Heuer in order to take part in the county’s work release program.

Irwin was sentenced in November of 2009 to 14 years in IDOC.

He was arrested in July of that year for selling methamphetamine to an informant on Connexion Way in Columbia City.

Barker was sentenced in the spring of 2011 to 10 years in the IDOC for attempting to manufacture meth.
