CHURUBUSCO — In a special meeting, the Smith-Green Community Schools board of directors unanimously voted Jim Folland new principal of Churubusco Junior Senior High School Tuesday night.
Folland is a former chemistry teacher for CJSHS and has been employed at SGCS for nine years.
Ralph Bailey, interim superintendent, announced the appointment.
“I have to give thanks to this board. It took four days to get this appointment and that is something special to get it moving this quickly,” said Bailey.
The board met with 25 candidates for the open principal’s position left by Austin Couch, now employed at Fort Wayne Community Schools.
Folland is excited for the opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to building relationships with the students, staff and this board,” said Folland.
“I thank you for the confidence you have put in me,” he said.
Folland’s daughters are both students at CJSHS. Emily is a senior and Julia is a freshman. His wife, Pam is a counselor at Central Noble Elementary School.
