December 19, 2013

CHURUBUSCO — Smith-Green Community Schools Board of Trustees officially approved an agreement that will provide a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the district.

SGCS entered into an agreement with the town of Churubusco and the Churubusco Police Department at the recommendation of Superintendent Galen Mast.

Chad Fulkerson has updated his SRO training and met all of the requirements to be the SRO for the district.

Half of his salary will be provided by a Department of Homeland Security Grant the district received, which totals slightly more than $20,000.

Mast said an SRO is an essential and helpful piece of the district’s puzzle.
