Shanna Lorraine Ballard, 23 and her unborn daughter, Paisley Rebbecca Jo Ballard of Albion, both passed away at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Shanna was born Jan. 26, 1989 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Donald Millard and Rebbecca L. (Carpenter) Hodgkins.
She graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 2007. She received her Medical Assistant degree from Ross Medical College, Fort Wayne. She was also employed at Bones Theater, Columbia City. She was married to Jeremiah Eugene Ballard on April 4, 2010, in Noble County.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Jeremiah Eugene Ballard of Albion; two children, Scout Eugene, 4, and Olivia Grace Ballard, 3; her beloved Pit Bull dog, Girlfriend Ballard; mother, Rebbecca (Kim) Cramer, Paris, Tenn.; father, Donald Millard (Melody) Hodgkins, Columbia City; in-laws, Mart (Sally) Ballard of Columbia City; sisters and brothers, Misti Green of Plainwell, Mich., Myranda Green of Sturgis, Mich., Zach Ballard of Columbia City, Zeb (Stephanie) Ballard of Columbia City, Donald Hodgkins of Elyria, OH, Zorrina (Tom) Bilbo of Kiln, Miss., Bobbie Corey of Plymouth, Byron (Jackie) Prough of Shipshewana and Bob (Ruby) Ballard of Dunlap.
She is preceded in death by grandparents, Eddie and Patricia Ruffing and Donald M. and Lorraine Hodgkins.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, with the funeral service immediately following at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pastor “Uncle Todd” Prough of the Spirit of Faith Fellowship, Goshen, will be officiating. Memorial bequest may be given in Shanna and Paisley Ballard’s memory to their final expense account in care of DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
