Sharon Freon

Sharon (Chaffin) (Meitz) Freon, of Fort Wayne, passed away July, 21, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
She graduated from North Side High School in 1957, and was employed as a nurse at Parkview Hospital for 19 ½ years.
Upon her retirement she worked at Lutheran Social Services, Allen County Council on Aging and as a realtor with Better Homes and Gardens.
She was also a member at Trinity English Lutheran Church.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Henry; four children, Tamberie (Jeff) Kumfer of Columbia City, Wendi (Tim) Burkhart of Churubusco, Dawn Meitz of Fort Wayne and Paul Chad (Laurie) Meitz of California; four stepchildren, David (Tanya) Freon, Chris Freon and Robert (Shannon) Freon all of Fort Wayne and Sandra Lynn (James) Weeks of Alaska; seven grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Visitation will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. The burial will be held at Highland Park Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be given to Trinity English Lutheran Church, Heartland Hospice or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
