SOUTH WHITLEY â€” Many athletes aspire to be a record-breaking quarterback, or an Indiana All-Star pitcher, or to average double digits for the basketball team.
Whitkoâ€™s incoming senior Alex Stoddard has done all three.
Stoddard has been a varsity starter in football, basketball and baseball since he's been in high school.
Stoddard had over 1,200 passing yards last season as the Wildcatsâ€™ quarterback, he collected 71 strikeouts (9.44 per game) and averaged 10 points per game in basketball.
Stoddard has been the starting quarterback for the â€™Cats since he was a sophomore.
He broke the completion percentage record at Whitko for a single game and for the season. (game: 85 percent, season: 60 percent). He also broke the most all-purpose yards in a season with 1,673 yards.
Stoddard recently played in the Junior North-South All-Star game at Decatur Central High School in Indianapolis, and was named the MVP.
He pitched four shut-out innings and only gave up one hit.
