Shinzo Ohki program

The Genealogical Society of Whitley County will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Peabody Library in Columbia City. Pat Hindbaugh will present a program about Shinzo Ohki. Ohki arrived in Seattle from Japan at the age of 17. Eventually making his way to Whitley County, he graduated from Columbia City High School with the class of 1907, later establishing the Oriental Show-You Company which employed hundreds of residents over the years. There is no cost to attend and the public is always welcome to attend meetings of the Genealogical Society.
