Shirley Kreger, 84

Shirley Lou Kreger, 84 of Pierceton, passed away at 2:40 am Saturday, May 31, 2014, in Masonâ€™s Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
On May 14, 1930, she was born in Pierceton to Lewis and Anna (Rhodes) Jones.
Shirley was united in marriage to Lionel J. Kreger Oct. 23, 1948, in Churubusco. He preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1995.
A lifetime resident of Pierceton, Shirley was a graduate of Pierceton High School, class of 1948. She retired from Pierceton School and Whitko School Corporation with 30 years of service as school cafeteria manager.
Shirley was a member and elder of Pierceton Presbyterian Church and also a choir member for many years. She also was chairperson for funeral dinners for the church. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center, Pierceton, American Legion Auxiliary and Kosciusko County Historical Society. She enjoyed singing, sewing, cooking, praising and blessing others and serving at the church. In the last three years, she enjoyed the many activities and crafts at the Masonâ€™s Healthcare Center.
Her family was her pride and joy of which she is survived by her two sons, L. Leslie (Elaine) Kreger of Warsaw and Lewis W. (Vida) Kreger of Grabill; five grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Long of Warsaw, Heather (Mike) Mielcarz of Robbinsville, N.J., Courtney (Karena) Kreger of Jacksonville, Fla., Adam (Sara) Kreger of Swartz Creek, Mich. and Ryan Kreger of Grabill; six great-grandchildren, Collin Parker of West Point, N.Y., Lincoln and Landon Kreger of Swartz Creek, Mich., Whitney Long of Fort Wayne, Trevor Long of Bakersfield, Calif. and Preston Long of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one sister, Donna Hahn of Warsaw. Shirley was also preceded in death by seven sisters and one brother.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Washington Union Cemetery, Pierceton.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
