Shirley A. Sparks, 77, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, after a short illness.
Born in Jodie, W.Va., Shirley worked as a nursing assistant at the Towne House Retirement Center for 33 years caring for the elderly. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
Shirley will be remembered as a loving wife, an amazing mom and a fun â€śGran,â€ť who always went out of her way to be kind and care for those in her life.
We would like to thank Sylvia Brennan for her care and love.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Lloyd â€śGaleâ€ť Sparks of Fort Wayne; daughter, Rebecca Case of Columbia City; daughter, Rhonda Sparks of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Andrew and Katherine Case of Columbia City; sister, Mary Smith of Independence, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Cuthbert Clark and Iris Simms; brother, Herbert â€śRustyâ€ť Simms; sister, Molly Skaggs; sister, Nancy Miller; and brother, William Simms.
Thank you to the many kind staff at The Oaks for their compassionate care of our mother during the last few months of her life.
