Sloppy, slippery and soaked: Carroll spoils Columbia City’s senior night

October 6, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — The warm, enjoyable football weather came to an end this week, as players took the field in rainy, 41-degree conditions.

Both Columbia City and Carroll faced the same muddy disadvantage Friday night at the Max Gandy Athletic Field — but the Eagles also carried the detriment of multiple sidelined starters, and fell 20-6 to the Chargers on senior night.

Garrett Vandersaul had a strong performance on the defensive end of the ball, forcing two fumbles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and five tackles overall.

The Eagles play their final regular season game next week at Northeast Hoosier Conference foe Norwell.
