SMITH-GREEN SCHOOLS: CES touts collaboration

CHURUBUSCO — Teachers at Churubusco Elementary School will combine talents with seven other schools for an evening of development to begin the new year in education.
CES Principal Shellie Miller announced the Indiana Department of Education will be in attendance on the Professional Resources learning event on Jan. 19 at CES.
“This is a proactive way for all of us to gain more insight on our ever-changing educational programs,” said Miller.
In other school news:
•Churubusco Junior Senior High School had a jeans drive that raised $500 for a local family.
Principal Austin Couch explained why they didn’t do the traditional food drive.
“The canned food drive didn’t hit the mark. Our jean’s drive did. We were able to help a local family for Christmas with the money the students raised,” said Couch.
