WHITLEY COUNTY â€” Whitley County residents are becoming all-too-familiar with the terms â€śLevel 1 Snow Emergencyâ€ť and â€śTravel Warningâ€ť as Monday was nearly a Deja-Vu of three weeks ago, when the county was at a stand-still after Winter Storm Ion.
Winter Storm Ion dropped 16.2 inches of snow to the area Jan. 5, along with sub-zero temperatures and substantial travel impairment.
Though the area received less than 5 inches of snow during the weekend, 35-mile-per-hour winds have created drifts as high as 6 feet tall in some areas â€” on top of the snow that hasnâ€™t yet melted from Winter Storm Ion.
