State plans funding for all-day kindergarten

INDIANAPOLIS — After months of penny-pinching and budget-hacking, and following a heated debate where proposed state legislation drew the ire of Indiana teachers, Gov. Mitch Daniels and both branches of the state government are declaring some good news on the education front.
In what state lawmakers say is a rare joint announcement, House Speaker Brian Bosma R-Indianapolis along with Senate President Pro Tempore David Long R-Fort Wayne and Daniels announced their support for an additional $150 million investment in K-12 education, emphasizing early learning
