Steven Gregory Birchum, 48, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Parkview Oaks, Columbia City.
Born Sept. 11, 1963, in Whitley County, he was the son of Clarence and Reva M. (Banks) Birchum.
He attended Columbia City Joint High School and then moved to Monroe, Ga. for 30 years where he did maintenance at a recreational vehicle park.
He attended Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Elexus Birchum of Wynder, Ga.; sons, Jamie Birchum of Columbia City and Jason Puzeka; mother, Reva M. Grable of Columbia City; brothers, Chris E. (Debbie) Birchum of Columbia City and Jammy (Kim) Birchum of Morganton, N.C. and sister, Kim J. Jefferson of Hillsboro, Ky. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Birchum.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. Tuesady at the funeral home.
Pastor Jeremy Arrowood will officiate. Burial will be at Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Birchum to Parkview Home Health and Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Please visit to send family condolences or sign the guest register book.
