Throughout schools in Whitley County, custodians are taking the summer months to strip floors, clean windows and shampoo carpets in preparation for the 2013-14 school year.

It is a side of the school system most people never see, but one which remains vital to maintaining a positive environment for students and staff alike.

Pictured is Whitko High School (WHS) Custodian Dave Cleland beginning the process of stripping classroom floors Thursday.

There are approximately 15 rooms to be re-waxed, along with various hallways throughout the school according to WHS Head Custodian Joe Jackson.
