Editorâ€™s note: The following is a series highlighting unique jobs and activities held by area students during the summer months.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Kirstie Crisp will soon don a cap and gown and graduate with the rest of Columbia City High Schoolâ€™s Class of 2013.
However, while others go off on summer vacations and senior trips, Crisp will be starting her career â€” in cosmetology.
â€śI had visited colleges and I knew they that they wouldnâ€™t work for me,â€ť Crisp said. â€śCosmetology is something that I love. Why would I do something that I didnâ€™t love just to conform to everyone else?â€ť
It was approximately six months ago that Crisp made the decision to devote her life to making people look their best.
