SWORN IN: WCSD welcomes newest deputy

COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department swore in a new deputy Friday morning at the Whitley County Courthouse.

Billy Maddox, 29, is WCSD’s newest member and had his first day on the job Tuesday.

Maddox, along with his wife Tara, resides in the Larwill area and has been a Whitley County Sheriff Reserve since 2008.

He went to Vincennes University to study conservation law.

Maddox grew up in Southern Indiana and moved to Whitley County in 2003.
