TAKING OFFICE: Elected officials launch into new term

COLUMBIA CITY — New Year’s Day met local politicians with a ceremony to officially begin their terms.

On Tuesday elected officials gathered at the Whitley County Courthouse for the swearing-in ceremony.

Among those officials being sworn in were Don Amber and Tom Rethlake as county commissioners; Bill Overdeer, Paula Reimers and Tom Western as members of county council; Laurell Hodges took office as treasurer; in the position of surveyor was Ron McNeal and Randy Dellinger took office as the county’s coroner.
