TESTING TESTS: ISTEP+ results probed

May 24, 2013

PIERCETON — With computer malfunctions and online disconnects, ISTEP+ testing was deemed “a mess” by Indiana lawmakers.

The state-mandated test experienced technical difficulties when testing contractor, McGraw-Hill, was unable to keep up on the demand.

Indiana lawmakers said Thursday they will spend the coming months reviewing computer troubles with a statewide standardized test.

At Whitko Community School Corporation’s board meeting Monday, both Pierceton Elementary and South Whitley Elementary principals shared their perspective on the tests.
