Thorson Howe, 95

Thorson Allen Howe, 95, a resident of Round Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 in the Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City.
He graduated from the Geneva High School and International Business College, served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart for wounds incurred at the Battle of the Bulge.
He was the manager of the Geneva Lumber Company, retiring in 1976; past board member of Geneva First United Methodist Church; 50 year member and past Master of Decatur Masonic Lodge 571; member of the Lions Club; Chamber of Commerce; I.O.O.F. Lodge and the Scottish Rite.
He is mourned by his wife of 25 years, Raydeen; son, Frank (Barb) Howe of Berne; daughter, Sharon Thomas of Bluffton; granddaughter, Laura (Ronny) Jacobson of McKees Rocks, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Jericho and Janelle Jacobson; stepchildren, Terry (Susan) Miller of Columbia City, Peggy Kunkle of Bradenton, Fla.; stepgrandchildren, Jackie Miller and Adrian (Casey) Miller; stepgreat-grandchildren, Adin and Callahan Miller.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margarete; parents, George and Bessie Holcomb Howe; and a brother, Carl.
There will be no visitation. A family service will be held Monday in the Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Honor Flight of NE Indiana.
