The Samaritan lands at the scene of a two-car accident on state Route 9 Wednesday afternoon. One person was transported via rescue helicopter and two others were injured.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Three people were injured Wednesday, one seriously, in a two-vehicle collision north of Columbia City.
Elizabeth Peterson, 18, of Riley Road, Columbia City was airlifted by Parkview Hospitalâ€™s Samaritan helicopter following the crash that occurred on state Route 9 and County Road 500 North at about 4 p.m.
Peterson was listed by police as incoherent at the scene with apparent internal injuries. Her condition was unavailable at Parkview today.
Also injured at the scene was Sarah Peterson, 10, also of Riley Road, Columbia City and Wesley Pease, 31, of Poplar Road in Columbia City.
Sarah Peterson was transferred to Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne and Pease, who complained of pain at the scene was transported to Parkview-Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
The condition of those two crash victims was also unavailable today.
According to police, Pease reported he was southbound on state Route 9 when the four-door sedan driven by Elizabeth Peterson pulled out in front of his small pickup truck.
Police say witnesses at the scene reported Petersonâ€™s vehicle was stopped and facing eastbound on County Road 500 North before it pulled out into the path of Peaseâ€™s vehicle.
The accident was investigated by the Whitley County Sheriffâ€™s Department.
According to the accident report, both vehicles were totaled.
