March 16, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — Buckets are being filled at Northern Heights Elementary School with coins, cash and checks. The children and staff are raising funds for Henryville Elementary School. The West Clark Community Schools in southern Indiana endured a catastrophic disaster with tornados destroying its schools March 2.

Northern Heights’ Monica Raulston, second grade teacher, organized the events after Principal Bob Hoke sent out a school-wide e-mail regarding the situation.

“We’ve heard from the staff at West Clark Community Schools and they really need money the most,” said Raulston.

The money drive runs until Friday. Monetary donations may be taken to the school during school hours. Feel free to mail checks made payable to West Clark Community Schools to Northern Heights Elementary School, 5209 N. State Road 109, Columbia City, IN 46725.
