Tote exchange set for city residents

June 24, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City residents will see a trash can swap this week.

Mayor Ryan Daniel has asked that as weekly trash is collected by National Serv-All this week, residents leave the brown totes at the curb.

A separate truck will be working its way through town collecting the brown containers while another truck delivers new gray carts.

According to Daniel, Advance Disposal, doing business as National Serv-All, is planning to start delivery today.

There will be times households will have both a brown and a gray container. However, the brown container should stay curbside.

Trash pick up schedules will remain the same unless residents have been notified of a change.
