COLUMBIA CITY — 4-H roots grow deep for the Pettigrew family.

Evan Pettigrew is a fourth-year 4-H member and is a part of a family that has been through the 4-H program for many years.

Pettigrew’s four uncles and his father were all part of the organization growing up.

Now Pettigrew and his four siblings continue on the 4-H experience.

Pettigrew, the son of Jerry and Amy Pettigrew, attends Indian Springs Middle School where he is a sixth grader.

He is the third child in his family to be involved in 4-H.

His older sister Brook is in her ninth year and his brother Jake is in his eighth year.

Pettigrew's younger siblings, Jarin and Brant, will anticipate 4-H in the coming years.
