Troop takeover results in center’s makeover

April 16, 2014

Lucas Schmittler

SOUTH WHITLEY — A recently completed troop project benefited an area Boy Scout and Whitko Community School Corporation.

Lucas Schmittler, a freshman at Whitko High School, was in search of a project to complete his requirements as an Eagle Scout with Troop 85.

“It’s something we see almost every day since our troop is near there all the time,” Schmittler said. “I thought it was sort of sad that no one could use that area with it all overgrown, so that became my project.”
