Two sentenced on drug charges

COLUMBIA CITY — A Fort Wayne man received eight years in jail for drug offenses while a Syracuse man received a suspended 18-month prison sentence for a drug-related incident surrounding the death of a woman last year.Jeremy R. Church, 25, of Fort Wayne received a pair of eight-year sentences for dealing in cocaine and dealing in a controlled substance.Both charges are B felonies.Church was sentenced in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday and could be released in six years since two years of his eight-year sentences were suspended.Concurrent sentences means the two terms are served at the same time.Church was also ordered to pay a $200 Alcohol and Drug Countermeasure Fee.He was arrested in February.Terry Miller, 60, was arrested March 23, 2010 on charges of distributing morphine.Miller was sentenced on a charge of unregistered distribution of a controlled substance.He was charged in connection to the death of Tiffany Ritter in Syracuse last year.His one year, six-month sentence was suspended.
