UNITED WAY DIRECTOR STEPS DOWN: John Black leaving after two years at the helm

March 29, 2012

John Black

After two years at the helm, John Black is stepping down as executive director of the United Way of Whitley County.
Black has been offered a new position in management with a northeastern Indiana company.
He will be leaving United Way by mid-April, according to Barbara Bilger, United Way board president.
“We have been fortunate to have John serve as our leader for these last couple of years. John has great passion for United Way, having served as a board member and volunteer for several years before becoming our executive director. We wish him the best in his new role.”
Black expressed his gratitude to the community for the support he'd received during his tenure.
“Please accept a gracious thank you for allowing me to serve the community as the director for the past two years," he said.
"It has been an honor to be part of an organization and work with people that do so many things to help those in need.”
A search committee has been formed by the board of directors to interview and recommend a new director. Individuals wishing to submit resumes for the position are asked to mail them to: The United Way of Whitley County-Director Search, P.O. Box 464, Columbia City, IN 46725.
