UNITED WAY RAISES $206,000: Nonprofits benefit from Whitley County campaign
With more than $206,000 raised, the United Way of Whitley County is poised to give back $122,000 in grants.“We are excited to give back more than we did last year,” said Executive Director Cindy Baker. “It’s the best example of living united — members of the community helping other members of the community.”The United Way works to collect funds which are then distributed to Whitley County nonprofits to help financially support those initiatives.“The more money we can raise, the more we can give back,” said Baker. “That means we can free up these nonprofits to do what they do best — serve their clients.”Grants in the past have been awarded to such organizations such as the TROY Center, B.A.B.E., and the Whitley County Council on Aging. To read the rest of this story, see the May 13 issue of The Post and Mail.
