COLUMBIA CITY — While several grocery stores across the U.S. are working to pull ground beef patties off the shelves after a USDA recall, Columbia City’s Kroger was not affected.
More than 8.7 million pounds of beef have been recalled in 35 states, including Indiana, according to the USDA website. According to the USDA, the beef products were processed from Jan. 1, 2013 to Jan. 7, 2014.
However, the local Kroger store was affected by an earlier recall, that included El Monterey burritos and Philly Steak and Cheese Hot Pockets.
The recall went into effect in January and February.
