U.S. 30 BRIDGE MAINTENANCE BEGINS: 7-month project will restrict traffic on highway

March 21, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — A bridge maintenance project on U.S. 30 may cause congestion on the highway, as well as in Morsches Park this summer.
The project began Monday and is expected to be wrapped up by Oct. 31.

The Indiana Department of Transportation will be working to maintain and repair the U.S. 30 bridge that carries the highway over Morsches Park in Columbia City.

While those passing over the bridge aren’t currently affected, the work has already begun to block the roadway in the park.

Columbia City Park Director Mark Green is working with INDOT to make the effects of the project as minimal as possible on those who want to use the park.

With spring and summer sports beginning soon, extra traffic is expected at the park.
