US 30 PAVING UPDATE: INDOT to start tomorrow, not today

July 25, 2014

(COLUMBIA CITY) July 25, 2014 — Mayor Ryan Daniel received a message from INDOT stating that the U.S. 30 paving will now begin tomorrow rather than today.

Major delays are expected. The Columbia City Police Department advises drivers to avoid US 30 in Columbia City due to pavement resurfacing.

The Indiana Department Of Transportation has informed the City that Mill-and-Fill paving activities will be occuring on US 30 within the city limits, begining on Saturday, July 26. This construction will cause lane restrictions and potentially major delays on US 30 from State Road 205 through West Lincolnway. This includes the intersections of State Road 9 and State Road 109.

Motorists are encourgaged to find alternative routes around the construction zone for a least the next two weeks.

Additional improvements are expected to take place after the paving, but fewer delays are expected during this time period. Drivers are cautioned to stay alert, obey all traffic signals AND NOT BLOCK INTERSECTIONS.
