COLUMBIA CITY â Columbia Cityâs police cars are going to take on a new color next year.
The Columbia City Board of Works unanimously approved to change from the current dark blue squad cars to white, as well as a new logo on the vehicles.
âWeâve had the same color and striping package on the cars for a long time,â said Columbia City Police Chief Tim Longenbaugh. âI think itâs time for a change.â
Board of Works member Walt Crowder agreed.
âChange sometimes motivates and changes people,â Crowder said. âI think this is a positive thing.â
Switching from blue to white is not only going to give the cars a different look, but also save the city money, and the department will be able to receive new cars sooner.
