SOUTH WHITLEY — Vera Lois (Fritz) Shively, 80, of Mission, Texas formerly of South Whitley, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 3 a.m.
She was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Warsaw, a daughter of Ralph and Albertha (Steffan) Fritz.
In 1949, she graduated from Larwill High School. On Aug. 18, 1950, she married Donald G. Shively, who survives.
They moved to Indianapolis in 1956 and she retired from Stokely-Van Camp in 1976.
They returned to the Fritz family farm south of Larwill. In 1990, she became a resident of Texas and made her home in Mission, Texas.
She was a member of the Larwill Lions Club and Hidalgo County Coin Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Janet L. Nelson, Minnesota, and Carol Lynn Harrington, Virginia; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. There is no service planned. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
