Veterans to be honored at county schools

Several ceremonies are planned to honor and recognize veterans from Whitley County. COLUMBIA CITY — Although Veteran’s Day is observed Nov. 11, several schools will host veteran programs to honor service men and women.

Coesse Elementary School will once again invite parents and grandparents to its campus for a ceremony Friday at 12:45 p.m.

Peabody Public Library and Indiana Springs Middle School will hold a countywide event Sunday at 2 p.m.

This will be the 11th year for the ceremony.

Whitko High School will also recognize veterans in a program slated for Nov. 11 at 10:45 a.m.

Students will have the opportunity to hear from local veterans Wilbur Wilson and David Roth.
