WCCS poised to hire assistant principal at CCHS Print E-mail
Tuesday, May 20 2008
By CHRIS MEYERS
Staff writer

After an extensive search, and one delay of the vote to hire, Columbia City High School may have its new assistant principal for the upcoming school year named tonight if all goes as planned.
“This time we’re ready for it,” Laura Huffman, superintendent of WCCS, said Monday, referring to the board’s decision to delay the vote at the May 6 meeting.
What started out as a search with 32 candidates was narrowed to eight. From that eight, Christopher Lagoni emerged as the final candidate.
Lagoni currently serves as principal at Bon Air Middle School in the Kokomo-Center Consolidated Schools district.
Huffman said certified and non-certified staff at CCHS took part in the committee which worked with the applicants.
“I was really pleased with so much high school input,” she said. If hired tonight, Lagoni’s contract would start Aug. 1. The position was left vacant after a February vote to not renew current assistant principal Jim Huth’s contract.
