Col. City goalie wins national title |

Tiffany Shoda, age 14 of Columbia City, recently returned from Suwannee, Ga. as a national champion as goalie of the Turnstone Fantastic Flyers of Fort Wayne.
Shoda’s Flyers qualified for the national tournament on March 8 when they faced Turnstone’s other team the Fearless Flyers in Indianapolis.
The four player teams came from as far as California, Minnesota and Arizona on June 13-15. All competing players have a disability that requires them to use a power wheelchair.
Playing two 20 minute halves, Shoda played a key role in her team’s defense shutting down oppoents.
The Turnstone Fantastic Flyers were crowned United States Power Soccer National Champions. |
