By CHRIS MEYERS Staff writer A local man already registered as a sexual predator for a conviction in Michigan now faces a local charge of child molesting. Twenty-eight-year-old Kenneth E. Miron is being held at the Whitley County Jail on a $100,000 surety bond on the Class A felony charge, according to jail records. Whitley County Prosecutor Matt Rentschler confirmed today that an investigation was ongoing on Miron’s most recent alleged actions, but could not release further details pending a review of the case and the possibility of filing more charges. According to the Indiana Sheriff’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry Web site, Miron was convicted in March of 2005 in Michigan on a charge of attempted criminal sexual conduct. According to the Web site, the charge is equivalent to attempted rape in Indiana. Miron was released from prison in December of 2005 on those charges and is labeled as a sexual predator, requiring lifetime notification to local officials on his place of residence and employment. |
