Sexual predator charged again.
By CHRIS MEYERS Staff writer
A local man registered as a sexual predator for a Michigan conviction and initially charged locally with one count of child molesting now faces two felony molesting charges. During the investigation, police found he may have allegedly had contact with another young girl, according to the charging documents. Twenty-eight-year-old Kenneth E. Miron had been arrested earlier this week on a Class A felony child molesting charge on accusations that he raped an 11-year-old girl, according to the documents. During further investigations and interviews, police found that a 9-year-old girl may have also been the victim of an assault. During her interview with police, the 9-year-old said Miron had been lying down with her and placed her hand on his genitals. Miron faces a C felony molesting charge for those allegations. According to the documents, Miron was living in the same house as the children at the time of the offenses. According to the Indiana Sheriff’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry Web site, Miron was convicted in March of 2005 in Michigan on a charge of attempted criminal sexual conduct. According to the Web site, the charge is equivalent to attempted rape in Indiana. Miron was released from prison in December of 2005 on those charges, and is labeled as a sexual predator, requiring lifetime notification to local officials on his place of residence and employment. |
