For the third consecutive year, young Tyler Green, 10, made an appearance on the world stage at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship with a goal of being among the best in the world. After returning to Indiana over the weekend, Green exceeded his own expectations, finishing 41st out of 138 golfers in his age division. Tyler’s father and caddie, Mark Green, saw his son get better with every round of the three day tournament. “He was excited to finish 41st,” Mark Green commented. “He met his goal of finishing in the top 50 in his age group and also got to make a lot of friends from all around the world at the same time.” The world championships sponsored by U.S. Kids Golf brings approximately 1,500 youth golfers from 33 different countries all over the world together to find out who is the best in each age category. Tyler Green’s scores only improved with each day at Little River Golf Resort shooting 18-hole rounds of 81, 78 and 75. His total of 234 over three days was only 14 strokes behind the top 10. |
