A local man involved in the 2000 armed robbery of the Churubusco McDonalds was denied sentence modification Monday morning

A local man involved in the 2000 armed robbery of the Churubusco McDonalds was denied sentence modification Monday morning by Circuit Court judge James Heuer.
James F. Tinsley and two other men robbed the McDonalds in December 2000, and Tinsley was sentenced to 20 years with 15 to serve in February 2001. Tinsley was armed with a baseball bat for the robbery and another man carried a gun.
Tinsley appealed for a local alternative to prison after completing several education courses and compiling a fairly clean record, but he had three years left on his sentence before he could be released. He was denied work release because his criminal history was not compatible with community correction guidelines.
Heuer told Tinsley that he felt three years on home detention was too long. Tinsley had said he was going to work on the family farm.
