A Fort Wayne teen suffered serious injuries Saturday night after the motorcycle he was driving hit the back of another car on the road. Nineteen-year-old Justin M. Wilcoxson was southbound on state Route 9 in the area of the Shrine Horse Grounds at a high rate of speed when he hit the back of a four-door passenger car that was also southbound, according to the crash report. Witness statements suggested that speed was a contributing factor in the crash. The impact with the car sent the motorcycle off the road and ejected Wilcoxson, who was not wearing a helmet, according to the report. He suffered head and internal injuries and was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. An updated condition report was not available today. The driver of the car, 25-year-old Roann resident Brooke M. McWilliams, and a young child in her car were not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation. State Route 9 was closed from Airport to Cider Mill roads as police and emergency responders worked to clear the debris from the road.
