A late fall snowstorm moved through Whitley County Thursday afternoon, creating a dappled landscape. This scene is on state Route 205 just south of Columbia City on the way to South Whitley. Lake effect snow Thursday evening created problems for drivers both Thursday night and this morning leaving roads icy and causing several accidents. The snow and below-average temperatures of the week have given local residents a preview of the coming winter season.
