Hornish Jr. coming to CCHS Jan. 13 Print E-mail
Saturday, December 06 2008

NASCAR fans will have to wait a little longer to meet a former Indianapolis 500 winner.
Penske Racing driver Sam Hornish Jr. will be coming to Columbia City High School after the holidays on Jan. 13.
A previously scheduled trip in early December was postponed due to scheduling conflicts.
The Defiance native’s connection with Whitley County comes from a former pastor and now retired Columbia City resident Glen Whisler.
As part of his trip, Hornish will speak in the high school auditorium. Before talking at 7 p.m., Hornish will be available for autographs in the auditorium at 6 p.m.
His visit is being sponsored by various Columbia City churches in hopes of building a stronger community.
“We look forward to having this Indy 500 winner in our community and hope you’ll join us,” Columbia City Church of the Brethren pastor Dennis Beckner.
