By DEANNA POGORELC Staff writer Greg Fahl has lived in Columbia City his whole life and has established quite a reputation for himself. As the co-owner and president of Orizon Real Estate, he is an accomplished realtor with a long list of things to be proud of, and he can now add an area award to that list. Fahl was honored with the 2009 Outstanding Service Award by the Fort Wayne Area Association of Realtors on Dec. 3. The Outstanding Service Award recognizes a member of the association who has made outstanding contributions to the Fort Wayne area real estate community and the association. A member of the association since 1982, Fahl has served more than 20 years on different committees and established a reputation as a well-respected leader among his colleagues. Fahl, a graduate of Indiana University, has been a licensed realtor since 1976. He said he was surprised to be honored with the award and had no idea he would be receiving it at the association’s annual Christmas banquet. Ever humble, Fahl expressed a genuine passion for what he does. “Every transaction is a little bit different, so it’s not the same every day,” he said of his career in real estate. “There’s a lot of happiness people experience when they get a home, and that never gets old.” In addition to his involvement in real estate, Fahl is also active in the Whitley County community. He serves as an ambassador for the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the Whitley County Community Foundation and a supporter of Whitley County 4-H. The association presented Fahl with a plaque and gave a brief description of his contributions, deeming him “an extraordinary example of servant leadership.”
