A familiar face at Columbia City High School may not be returning for the 2008-09 school year. The Whitley County Consolidated Schools Board of School Trustees voted unanimously at its Tuesday meeting to start the process of non-renewal for Jim Huth, assistant principal in charge of student activities, data collection and staff development at CCHS. Superintendent Laura Huffman said Wednesday she could not comment on the specifics of the vote due to it being a personnel matter. She said the board’s vote gives her the authorization to start the process of non-renewal of the contract by drafting a letter regarding the issue. Huth was unavailable for comment Wednesday before WCCS went on Thanksgiving break for the remainder of the week. Administrators do have the option to appeal such decisions, although it is not known if Huth intends to do so. |
