Wanda Deininger, 91

Wanda I. Deininger, 91, a Cleveland Township native, died at 5:47 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Rita.
She was born January 13, 1922, in Cleveland Township, a daughter of Harry A. and Pauline (Reckard) Lepley.
At the age of four, her family moved to Larwill. She graduated in 1940 from Larwill High School. She moved to Fort Wayne and graduated from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.
On Sept. 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Paul J. Deininger. They always made their home in Fort Wayne. Mr. Deininger died Jan. 20, 2013.
A registered nurse, she worked for Visiting Nurse Service, Lutheran Hospital, Saint Joe Hospital for 10 years and Allen County Board of Health for 10 years.
Her memberships include St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Allen County Genealogical Society and Whitley County Genealogical Society.
Surviving relatives include three children, Paul Joseph (Sharon) Deininger of Indianapolis, Rita Deininger of Elkhart and Gregory J. Deininger of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Wendy Kouma; a great-granddaughter, Marie Kouma; and two brothers, Richard Lepley of Lima, Ohio and Larry Lepley of Columbia City.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Lepley and Wilbur Lepley.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Jude’s Catholic Church.
