Wayne Rekeweg, 63

Wayne A. Rekeweg, 63, of Fort Wayne, died Nov. 26, 2011 at Parkview Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he was a 1966 graduate of Woodland High School.
Wayne was also a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, recognized with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
He worked at General Motors as a Millwright and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Danni; son Daniel W. Rekeweg of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Heather (Jason) Connor of South Whitley; mother, Margaret Rekeweg of Albion; sister, Diann (Del) Tewes of New Bloomfield, Mo.; brothers, Paul (Nettie) Rekeweg of Woodburn and Glen (Christine) Rekeweg of Coldwater, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur D. Rekeweg. The funeral service is Friday at 2 p.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road with visitation two hours prior to the service. Military graveside honors will be conducted at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
