WCCS: Superintendent's contract extended

June 22, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — At the WCCS board meeting Monday, member Don Armstrong announced the board’s recommendation concerning Superintendent Dr. Patricia O’Connor’s contract.
The decisions were made at an executive session.
“Based on that evaluation, and the job performance of our superintendent, it is recommended that the Whitley County Consolidated School board, Board of Trustees, extend the three year contract of the superintendent for an additional year, which would mean the contract would be extended to June of 2015 with no increasing bonus,” said Armstrong.
The recommendation was approved by the board, and following the approval, O’Connor gave the board her response of gratitude.
“I would like to once again thank you,” said O’Connor. “It has been an honor to work with you, and I appreciate all you have done in support of the students of our school corporation.”
O’Connor said she looks forward to continue making appropriate changes to best serve the students of WCCS.
“I think we have accomplished a lot, but I think we have a lot more to accomplish,” said O’Connor.
