WEATHER UPDATE: Snow to taper off, drifting continues

WHITLEY COUNTY (Feb. 5, 2014) -- The National Weather Service says snow will gradually taper off this afternoon but not without giving the area another inch of snow.

Blowing and drifting is expected to continue this afternoon, especially in open and rural areas.

Whitley County Emergency officials say the highway department is trying to get all roads touched at least once before this evening. "I drove around a little bit around noon. Found roads passable that we were on. Intersections are still a little snow covered but passable with caution," said EMA Director Cathy Broxon-Ball. "Subdivisions will be last so please be patient they are in every township with plows all day today."
